Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), so you cancel through your store account — Gryter cannot cancel a store-level subscription on your behalf.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Premium access until the period ends, then revert to the free tier without losing your training history.

How do I delete my account?

Open Gryter → ProfileAccountDelete Account. You will be asked to re-authenticate (Apple or Google sign-in), then deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no undo. Your profile, workout history, training plans, body weight log, and Firebase Auth account are deleted in a single server-side pass. For Apple Sign-In users, we also call Apple's /auth/revoke endpoint to deauthorize the Apple ID grant for our app per Apple's TN3194.

If you have already uninstalled the app, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account; email-based requests are processed within 7 days. Subscription billing is separate — see "How do I cancel my subscription?" above.

How do I download a copy of my data?

Open Gryter → ProfileDownload my data. We email you a JSON file containing your profile, workouts, training blocks, exercise progression, body weight entries, prior feedback, and account metadata — typically delivered within a minute.

How do I get a refund?

All refund requests are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) under their respective policies — Gryter cannot issue refunds for store-level transactions.

I forgot my password / can't sign in

Gryter signs you in via Apple or Google — there is no Gryter-specific password. If you can't sign in, the issue is with your Apple ID or Google account:

After resetting, open Gryter and sign in again with the same provider — your training history will be there.

Why is my plan still loading?

Your first training plan is generated by AI immediately after you finish onboarding. The generation takes about 3–5 minutes — you'll see a "We're building your plan" screen with live progress. Tap "Get notified" if you want a push notification when it's ready, then close the app and come back later. If the plan still hasn't appeared after 10 minutes, force-quit the app and reopen — the plan listener picks up any plan that landed while you were away. If it still hasn't, email us.

What does the AI know about me?

We send your fitness profile (goal, experience level, body stats — height, weight, gender, age), your training schedule, and your recent workout history (exercises, sets, reps, weights) to one of Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google AI to generate your personalized training plan. We do not send your name, email, or any account identifier — these providers cannot tie the data back to you. Under our paid-tier API contracts, they cannot use your data to train their models. Full disclosure is in our Privacy Policy Section 8.A.

How do I restore my Premium subscription on a new device?

Open Gryter → ProfileRestore purchases. As long as you sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account that purchased the subscription, your Premium entitlement will reappear within a few seconds. The same button is also on the paywall screen.
